Exclusive: We rank NZ tech distributors by revenue & employees
IT distribution is facing many challenges. A lot of this boils down to the rise of Software-as-a-Service style billing. Which has left distributors only able to distribute a subset of all IT solutions in 2026. The result has been a number of closures and mergers.
Against this backdrop, Ingram Micro has maintained its industry leadership, aided by its size and broad range of activities. Hills & Arrow Distribution, on the other hand, exited the local technology distribution market.
Several of the 14 distributors named are privately held businesses, making it difficult to obtain accurate revenue data in all situations. Nonetheless, the companies listed collectively account for more than NZ$2.4 billion in New Zealand turnover in 2024/5.
