Milestone Systems aims for NZD $15 million NZ market growth by 2025

Wed, 25th Sep 2024

Milestone Systems recently hosted its first major event in Wellington, New Zealand, focusing on video technology and its applications beyond traditional security. The event attracted over 120 attendees, doubling the initial expectation of 60 participants. This event indicates Milestone's intentions to expand its presence in the New Zealand market, aiming to make the country a focal point by 2025.

Attendees included local partners, distributors, and customers, signalling broad interest in Milestone's theme of the 'Power of Video'. The company's data-driven video technology is anticipated to have a significant impact across various vertical markets in New Zealand, such as commercial real estate, local councils, healthcare, energy, sporting facilities, and public infrastructure.

The event, held following the opening of Milestone's new South Pacific headquarters in Melbourne, delved into the extensive capabilities of video technology. Milestone is renowned for its open platform in the security and surveillance markets; however, the event's discussions expanded into more innovative applications. Highlights included enhancing situational awareness, promoting public health and safety, and developing smart buildings.

Willie Taylor MNZN, Director of Security and Emergency Management at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), provided a keynote address. His participation underscored the importance of integrating advanced video technology in diverse sectors to solve everyday challenges.

"New Zealand has always been an important part of our operations in the South Pacific region, but it is time to expand our commitment and work more closely with the dynamic, professional market there. We had an exceptional turnout, and there was a real energy and interest in the event. People are very much on board with our vision to expand the power of video, and we look forward to working closely with our New Zealand partners and customers in the future," said Jordan Cullis, Country Director, Milestone Systems for South Pacific.

As the company expands its reach in New Zealand, the event sets the stage for future growth and collaboration. The focus is not limited to traditional security applications but also highlights broader uses, such as smart cities and public safety. This approach aligns with the company's strategy of redefining how video technology can serve organisations and communities.
