The Australian Technologies Competition (ATC) has announced its winners for 2023. The annual event, now in its 13th year, showcased an outstanding array of talent, with the winners illustrating the impressive level of innovation currently being undertaken in Australia.

Owned by Scalare Partners, a noteworthy technology investment and advisory firm, the ATC serves as the stage for applauding Australian innovation and entrepreneurship. ATC recognises those companies standing at the forefront of technological development, whose trailblazing innovations are effecting positive, real-world change. These are the companies that align with Scalare Partners' investment vision, which prioritises innovation, sustainability and societal improvement.

Following the earlier Cleantech Awards in Melbourne, the Sydney leg of the ATC was a well-attended celebration of home-grown technologies with global impact and scalability potential. With almost 100 applications submitted, the selection of the 10 winners was a daunting task for the judges, who evaluated ground-breaking innovations presented by the competitors. The winning companies were chosen for their unyielding dedication to creating innovative solutions that tackle global challenges, promote sustainability and enhance the quality of life.

As a testament to Scalare Partners' commitment to nurturing and applauding innovative enterprises, all ATC finalists will gain the opportunity to engage with investors, mentors, and industry experts. This year's exceptional winners ranged from solutions such as glasses delivering a sense of vision to the blind to hydrogen-powered scramjets engines which have the potential to reshape industries and contribute significantly to societal advancement.

Some winners included RoboMotion Pty Limited, trading as Verbotics, which won the Advanced Manufacturing category with its robotic automation designed for welding. In Cybersecurity & Critical Tech, Brauz won with a technology that connects customers to retail staff in-store. CXEX Pty Ltd took the Fintech & Regtech category with AI and machine-learning technology designed to help businesses better understand their customer base. Aria Research, which developed glasses offering a sense of vision to blind individuals via enhanced human echolocation, was awarded in MedTech & Pharma, and was also named as the Overall Technology Company of the Year.

The ATC winners were announced on 28th September at the National Finals & Awards night in Sydney. Earlier in the month, the Cleantech Finals & Awards ceremony took place in Melbourne, recognising companies such as ON VOL Pty Ltd for energy generation from movement, Adiona Tech for sustainable transport technology, and RayGen for its work in solar and storage solutions.

The Australian Technologies Competition acts as a sandbox for Australian companies to showcase their pioneering technologies to the world. Modeled as both a growth program and awards ceremony, it bridges the gap between exceptional founders, advisors, investors, and industry experts, promising greater opportunities for impactful innovations.
