Calero hires Hyoun Park to lead telecom mobility push
Calero has appointed Hyoun Park as Vice President of Telecom & Mobility Management, with Park reporting to President and Chief Revenue Officer Eric Martorano.
The hire places a long-time industry analyst and former enterprise technology leader into a senior role at the Technology Business Management provider. Calero said Park will focus on its telecom and mobility management business.
Park joins Calero after running analyst firm Amalgam Insights. He previously led analyst practices at Aberdeen Group and Blue Hill Research, according to the company. Calero also cited his experience managing multimillion-dollar technology budgets at Bose and Teradyne and overseeing telecom billing operations.
Calero positions telecom and mobility management as part of a broader Technology Business Management approach. The company said organisations now face growing complexity across mobile services and technology portfolios.
Shifting focus
Calero said telecom and mobility management has historically centred on invoice processing, audit activity and cost recovery. It said the environment has changed as organisations contend with expanding mobile ecosystems, increased use of AI and rising internal expectations around digital productivity.
Calero also said older category-by-category approaches no longer keep pace with the way companies buy, manage and account for technology services.
"Calero didn't simply contribute to the telecom and mobility management industry - we built it, scaled it, and set the standard," said Scott Gilbert, Chief Executive Officer, Calero. "Our future is focused on elevating customer value and delivering measurable, strategic business impact. Bringing Hyoun on board affirms our commitment to investing ahead of the market. His expertise and forward-looking perspective align seamlessly with our mission to empower enterprises to maximize their resources and manage technology in ways that were previously unattainable."
Calero said Park's remit includes evangelising Technology Business Management and advancing the company's approach to telecom and mobility management. It said the work links to how enterprises govern and optimise technology spend across different service categories.
Executive remit
Martorano said the appointment sits within Calero's Technology Business Management strategy. Calero described that strategy as focused on how enterprises manage technology investments across telecom and mobility services.
"Calero hasn't just influenced telecom and mobility management, we've defined it and set the trajectory for the industry," said Martorano. "Our leadership in this area is part of a larger TBM vision built to help enterprises command their technology investments with precision, intelligence, and scale. Hyoun's arrival is a validation of the strength of our platform and the ambition of our strategy. With his experience and industry authority, we're accelerating from a position of undeniable advantage and widening a gap the market won't be able to close. Calero is not simply competing in this space; we are shaping its future."
Park said he sees the current challenge as moving from visibility over technology costs to demonstrable productivity and outcomes. He also said Calero's scale and expertise underpinned his decision to take the role.
"I've spent two decades shaping the technology expense management category," said Park. "In my discussions with Scott and Eric, Calero's vision is unmatched and this role is a natural extension of the work I've devoted my career to. The challenge today isn't visibility but rather converting technology investments into real productivity and measurable outcomes. Calero has the scale, expertise, and focus to unify these demands through innovation and top talent. This team is exceptional, and I'm excited to help drive what comes next."
Company background
Calero said it has more than 3,000 customers across 102 countries. The company said its platform covers telecom management, mobility management, SaaS management and market data management.
Calero groups its offering into three areas: technology expense management, technology lifecycle management and managed technology services. It said the technology lifecycle management element includes IT asset management, inventory visibility, lifecycle tracking and processes for asset reallocation and disposal from procurement to retirement.
Calero said Park will bring experience across enterprise IT, telecom operations, financial management and industry research as it builds out its telecom and mobility management business under its Technology Business Management strategy.
