Couchbase awards 2024 winners for innovation in tech use

Couchbase has announced the winners of its 2024 Couchbase Customer Impact Awards, recognising customers who are innovatively modernising their operational infrastructure.

Josh Harbert, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Couchbase, stated, "The AI era has sparked a new pace of innovation, challenging enterprises to evolve in order to meet consumer demands and maintain their competitive edge. Our award-winning customers are leading this charge, building modern applications on Couchbase that drive business at the edge with real-time capabilities." He acknowledged the technological sophistication of the honorees, highlighting their commitment to providing exceptional user experiences using Couchbase's developer data platform, Capella.

The winners of the 2024 Couchbase Impact Awards include companies from various sectors, showcasing a diverse range of use cases for Couchbase's technologies.

PRODATO, based in Nuremberg, Germany, is a notable winner. Utilising Couchbase as its central data hub, PRODATO, a consultancy and data management entity, developed a simple and rapid solution to meet an end customer's need for storing purchase data and receipts effectively.

Quantic, headquartered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is another award recipient. The company, which operates a cloud-based restaurant point-of-sale platform, has been using Couchbase Capella to keep up with its growing clientele and product offerings, achieving a 50% increase in querying speed. Capella allows Quantic to offer scalable, always-on services, including offline sync capabilities crucial for uninterrupted restaurant operations even amidst internet issues.

Sabre Corporation from Southlake, Texas, is recognised for employing Couchbase to support a distributed, always-on transactional system vital to the travel industry. Sabre, which serves a variety of travel entities including airlines and hotels, leverages Couchbase's capabilities to consistently manage hundreds of thousands of read transactions and over 1,000 updates per second.

An advanced call captioning phone system based in Roseville, California, also claimed a spot among the awardees. This system uses Couchbase as a key element of its tech stack to facilitate real-time call captions for the hearing impaired and to deliver emergency service notifications through AI-enhanced speech recognition technology.

A leading French supermarket chain operating out of Paris employs Couchbase Mobile across 3,000 stores. This allows the seamless operation of 25,000 mobile devices in environments with inconsistent Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring better customer service and a more efficient shopping experience.

Lastly, a prominent online sports betting company from New York City utilises Couchbase Capella to enhance customer personalisation and content management on its platform. The application of Capella has enabled the company to manage increased user traffic with no downtime, even during major sporting events.
