Voyager Internet, a key player in telecommunications, internet service provision, and hosting in New Zealand, has announced the appointment of Deidre Steyn as its new CEO. Deidre took up the mantle on Thursday, 1st February 2024, with a vision to steer Voyager into an era of increased growth and innovation.

The position is not entirely new to Deidre, who brings a substantial amount of experience from her tenure as Chief Commercial Officer at Voyager Internet. Known for her disruptive and forward-thinking style, Deidre has been instrumental in steering Voyager towards success. Beyond her association with Voyager, Deidre has also demonstrated strong leadership by running her own Management Consulting company in the SaaS startup landscape and holding the General Manager position for Iconz-Webvisions in Australia and New Zealand.

Discussing Voyager's future undertakings in the newly assumed role, Deidre spoke about tapping into the success of their hosting offerings and expanding them with innovative product introductions such as Virtual Data Centre. These undertakings are projected to open new market opportunities for Voyager and facilitate engagements with their Wholesale and Dealer partners. "With that brings us an opportunity to start building a managed services revenue stream. And of course, my time will be spent reviewing emerging technologies in our space that we could add to our product offerings to our customers," Deidre stated.

In an industry faced with intensifying competition and increasing regulatory pressure, Deidre pointed out the impending implementation of a new Business Support System (BSS) and the continued adoption of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Both are expected to serve as key strategies in navigating industry challenges.
