Teletrac Navman wins driver monitoring award for IQ Camera

Teletrac Navman has won the Driver Monitoring Solution of the Year award for its IQ Camera in the seventh annual AutoTech Breakthrough Awards.
The award recognises a camera system that uses artificial intelligence to monitor driver behaviour and provide video footage for fleets. The product also offers in-cab coaching and alerts designed to flag risky behaviour before an accident occurs.
IQ Camera is aimed at fleet operators managing safety, claims and driver performance across commercial vehicles. The device analyses drive time using video AI and gives managers access to footage that can support insurance claims or challenge disputed accounts of road incidents.
That use case has grown in importance as insurers and fleet managers face rising accident-related costs. Footage from the camera can help exonerate drivers when they are not at fault, while also giving fleet managers material to identify patterns of risky driving and shape follow-up coaching.
The camera is also integrated with the company's TN360 fleet management platform, allowing customers to use recorded incidents and driving data alongside training plans generated from driver behaviour.
In-cab alerts are part of that process, prompting drivers in real time. Managers can then use the footage and behaviour reports to support later conversations with drivers about safety and conduct on the road.
Ricardo Buranello, Chief Executive Officer of Teletrac Navman, linked the product's use to cost pressures in the sector.
"Thank you, AutoTech Breakthrough, for the award," said Ricardo Buranello, Chief Executive Officer of Teletrac Navman.
"Accidents and rising insurance premiums are putting immense pressure on fleets to prioritise safety. Teletrac Navman's IQ Cameras and TN360 AI-enabled fleet management platform work together to help customers reduce these costs by putting video evidence and driver training programs front and centre," Buranello said.
AutoTech Breakthrough is part of the wider Tech Breakthrough organisation, which runs awards focused on technology markets. Its automotive programme recognises products and companies across areas including connected vehicles, vehicle telematics, sensor technology and traffic systems.
In comments accompanying the award, Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of AutoTech Breakthrough, described the IQ Camera as an entry point for fleets adopting video telematics.
"Teletrac Navman's IQ Camera is the perfect entry into video telematics. Accident frequency and severity are driving commercial insurance premiums higher. Without footage, fleets are stuck taking the other party's version of events at face value," said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of AutoTech Breakthrough.
"AI-powered IQ Camera transforms what it 'sees' into insight, resulting in safer drivers, a more efficient fleet, and evidence that can help exonerate drivers and enable insurance providers to quickly identify fault and resolve claims," Vaughn said.
Teletrac Navman operates in connected mobility and fleet management for businesses that manage vehicle and equipment assets. The company has a global presence and is headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois.
The award highlights continued demand for technology that gives fleet operators clearer evidence after collisions and a more direct way to address behaviour behind the wheel.
