Thu, 27th Mar 2025

OPPO has introduced the Reno13 Series in New Zealand, bringing design, performance, and durability to the mid-range phone sector.

The Reno13 Series launch comprises three models: the Reno13 Pro, Reno13, and Reno13 F, all featuring next-generation tools for content creation, artificial intelligence functionalities, advanced photography capabilities, and a robust design. The series targets a broad range of users including content creators, gamers, and those looking for everyday usability, offering AI-driven features like AI Livephoto, AI Clarity Enhancer, and AI Editor to facilitate content creation directly via the smartphone.

The design incorporates sleek aesthetics alongside an aluminium and glass build, designed to be both stylish and durable. The range boasts high industry ratings for water and dust resistance, ensuring the devices function well even in adverse conditions. Specifically, the Reno13 Pro is equipped with an advanced 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera, offering exceptional portrait photography and enhanced close-up capabilities compared to other models in its class. This is complemented by OPPO's AI features to deliver what the company describes as an impressive combination of hardware and software.

A notable feature of the Reno13 Series is its battery life, with the Reno13 Pro having a battery capacity of up to 5800mAh, touted as approximately 20% larger than its competitors, yet housed within a thinner frame. This extends usage without frequent charging.

Morgan Halim, General Manager for OPPO New Zealand, commented on the Reno13 Series, stating, "The Reno13 Series goes above and beyond in terms of what it offers for its price point. With ultra-fast performance, all-day battery life, advanced AI capabilities and standout design, it delivers much more than other similarly priced phones in the New Zealand market."

The Reno13 Series is now available in New Zealand through leading tech retailers. The Reno13 Pro is priced at NZD $1399 with colour options of Plume Purple and Graphite Grey, the Reno13 at NZD $999 available in Plume White and Luminous Blue, and the Reno13 F priced at NZD $699 with availability in Graphite Grey and Plume Purple.

The Reno13 Series features extensive AI-powered photography tools, promising improved mobile photography capabilities. The phone's AI Livephoto allows for ultra-clear live image production, compatible with iOS devices. Additional features include AI Clarity Enhancer for enhancing distant details, AI Unblur for rectifying blurry captures, and AI Reflection Remover for reducing glass glare, ensuring clearer images. The Reno13 Pro 5G model includes a 50MP Ultra-Clear main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, an 8MP Ultra-Wide camera, and a 50MP selfie camera. It, along with the Reno13, supports 4K Ultra-Clear video recording.

Performance is cited as a key strength, with the Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G powered by the bespoke MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip, delivering a 20% boost in performance while utilising 30% less power. The AI Multi-Cooling System is designed to manage device heat effectively, particularly during multitasking or gaming, maintaining smooth operation.

The high level of durability is underscored by an IP66/IP68/IP69 rating, indicating strong resistance to water exposure, suitable for various weather conditions. A drainage feature is included to expel water, thus supporting sustained device performance without the need for additional protective cases.

Battery life and efficiency are also prioritised, with the Reno13 Pro 5G and Reno13 5G models featuring sizable batteries of 5800mAh and 5600mAh, respectively. The devices also support OPPO's 80W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge, promising rapid recharging capabilities. These batteries are engineered to maintain 80% of their original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, reinforcing their longevity.
