Servers.com has announced the opening of a new data centre in Miami and has expanded its operations at five existing sites across the globe in response to increasing customer demands.
The global Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider now has a new data centre operating in Miami, alongside expansions in Amsterdam, San Jose, Washington, Dallas, and Singapore, aimed at supporting industries that require low latency such as gaming, iGaming, streaming, adtech, and fintech.
The new Miami data centre is intended to serve customers in Brazil who face high hardware costs and limited infrastructure access locally. The site offers Brazil-based businesses an affordable alternative for Infrastructure-as-a-Service by providing proximity and services without passing on premium costs associated with local hosting options.
"New locations are always about getting closer to something - whether that's getting closer to users to reduce latency in gaming or getting closer to a specific platform. Miami is a really hot connectivity site down to Brazil and São Paulo in particular, and having a data centre presence in Miami means we can serve the South American market without having to transfer that premium to our customers," shares Isaac Douglas, Chief Revenue Officer at Servers.com.
Ilya Sokolov, EVP of Product and Engineering at Servers.com, also commented on the company's approach, stating, "We're primarily customer driven in terms of opening new data centres. If customers want us to be somewhere, that's where we go. And we can do it quickly because we always keep a supply of pre-stocked networking equipment which can be shipped and launched rapidly. We're always interested in growing our data centre locations in response to customer requirements, and look forward to discussing potential new sites with them."
Moreover, the expanded facilities at existing data centres are designed to address customer latency gaps and enable business growth at strategic locations. Notably, the San Jose data centre expansion improves redundancy and promises enhanced reliability and efficiency.
Isaac Douglas noted the rapid growth of Servers.com's operations by stating, "Six new or expanded data centre locations this year alone shows just how fast we're growing as a business. Further expansion is on the cards but where and when in 2025 is still to be determined. It depends where our customers want to be and the opportunities lie. The great thing is that we have the flexibility to go where we are needed."
