Enreach & Cataleya launch APAC white-label UCaaS push
Enreach for Service Providers has entered the Asia-Pacific unified communications market through a partnership with regional specialist Cataleya, extending an existing relationship as demand for cloud-based voice and collaboration services grows across the region.
The agreement focuses on offering unified communications as a service, or UCaaS, to telecom operators, systems integrators and other service providers. It combines Enreach's Enreach UP smart contact platform with Cataleya's session border controller technology and regional presence.
Analyst firm Cavell has highlighted rising interest in UCaaS in key Asia-Pacific markets. "UCaaS markets in APAC present an attractive opportunity. Cavell forecasts that markets such as Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong are all set to exceed 5-year user CAGRs of 20%+," said Patrick Watson, Director of Research, Cavell.
Asia-Pacific focus
Enreach for Service Providers is part of European-based Enreach, which develops communication platforms for business users. The group already works with Cataleya in markets such as the UK and Germany.
Bertrand Pourcelot, Chief Executive of Enreach for Service Providers, said the company is seeing a sharp increase in demand from telecom and channel partners in Asia-Pacific. "The interest in UCaaS in Asia Pacific is accelerating fast. Service providers, telcos, and systems integrators want to take advantage of this opportunity. Our joint proposition gives those audiences a market-proven, simplified, and fast track to deployment, without needing to build their own technology solutions. Instead, they can simply adopt our service and focus on generating revenue," said Pourcelot.
The partnership targets organisations that want to expand business communication portfolios without investing in their own platforms. Enreach and Cataleya will offer a hosted service that partners can deploy and operate under their own brands.
White-label model
The two companies are positioning the offer as a multi-tenant, multi-tier, white-label service. Partners can tailor it for different customer segments while retaining their own branding.
"Together, we offer a multi-tenant, multi-tier, white-label solution to service providers in the region," explained Robert Urban, International Sales Director, Enreach for Service Providers.
Urban said the tie-up gives regional providers a different option alongside larger global communication platforms. "We provide an attractive alternative to some of the big players, with the added benefit of local presence and data sovereignty, factors that are important to a lot of customers. Cataleya is the perfect partner for us in Asia Pacific and a key part of our continued international expansion."
The focus on data location and sovereignty reflects regulatory and customer requirements in several Asia-Pacific markets. Many organisations in sectors such as financial services and government prefer data storage within their own jurisdiction or region.
Service features
Through the partnership, service providers will be able to launch UCaaS offers that include voice, video and messaging functions. Enreach says the joint services address three areas: customer interaction, employee productivity and mobile-centric use.
Enreach UP brings together telephony, collaboration tools and messaging under a single architecture. It includes call recording, transcription and integration with business applications and more than 200 customer relationship management systems. The company is also adding AI-based features, which it says will sit within the platform rather than as bolt-on tools.
The platform uses a mobile-first approach. Enreach positions this as a way for operators to introduce fixed-mobile convergence services, which link mobile subscriptions with business communication features under one user experience.
Enreach UP is configurable through APIs and low-code or no-code integration tools. Enreach says this allows operator and integrator partners to adapt services for specific vertical sectors or workflows and bring them to market quickly.
Cataleya's role
Cataleya brings its own SBC technology, which manages signalling and media for real-time communications. The firm has developed this stack in-house and has deployed it globally.
The company is based in Singapore and has offices and a presence in India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, the UK and the US. It launched in 2012 with a focus on software-based network functions instead of traditional telecoms equipment.
Through the alliance with Enreach, Cataleya is moving further into cloud-based delivery models in addition to its on-premise deployments.
Andreas Hipp, Chief Executive of Cataleya, said the company's regional footprint will underpin the new offer. "With our established presence in Asia-Pacific, we can guarantee the support and responsiveness that customers will expect, as well as an understanding of local requirements. We also bring to the partnership our extensive collaboration and interoperability skills, to help service providers add UCaaS to their portfolios with minimal effort on their part," said Hipp.
Existing relationship
Enreach and Cataleya first began working together in 2018. Their initial joint projects were in Germany and the UK, where they integrated Enreach's communication platform with Cataleya's SBC products.
The companies now plan to deepen that relationship through projects across Asia-Pacific. They will target both regional and international providers that operate in markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Southeast Asia.
"Both organizations share the same ethos: to be forward-thinking technology innovators that are strong on customer service and local presence. We look forward to deepening our relationship with Cataleya, as we jointly support the service provider community across Asia-Pacific," concluded Pourcelot.
