Zyxel Networks unveils six new WiFi 7 access points for SMEs

Thu, 2nd Oct 2025

Zyxel Networks has launched six new WiFi 7 access points aimed at providing small and medium-sized businesses with affordable, high-performance wireless connectivity.

The introduction of the new devices expands Zyxel Networks' WiFi 7 portfolio to 13 models, offering options across a variety of business environments, including indoor, outdoor, and compact desktop scenarios.

Focus on affordability and performance

The newly launched access points, which include the NWA90BE PRO, NWA50BE PRO, NWA90BE, NWA50BE, NWA55BE, and NWA30BE, target businesses seeking advanced technology without high costs or complex installations. According to Zyxel Networks, the new offerings are designed to address ongoing cost and complexity barriers that smaller organisations often face when upgrading to WiFi 7, a wireless technology standard now supported by numerous end-user devices.

These models incorporate industry innovations tailored for businesses prioritising both performance and security. Among the new features is support for SSID VLAN tagging, allowing firms to segment their wireless network by designating different WiFi names for staff, guests, or smart devices. This enables easier management and enhanced privacy without demanding specialist IT skills from users.

Technology features

The new access points feature Smart Mesh multi-link operation (MLO), which, when combined with mesh networking, creates a dual-radio mesh backhaul that can improve WiFi throughput by up to 40%, based on Zyxel Networks' internal lab testing. The APs also utilise antenna isolation technology and optimised internal layouts to minimise interference from neighbouring wireless, mobile, and Bluetooth signals, supporting better connectivity in high-density or interference-prone locations.

Each device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm chipset and supports NebulaFlex for switching between on-premises and cloud-based management. Zero-touch provisioning and app-based onboarding are intended to simplify installation, enabling businesses without dedicated IT teams to configure new APs by simply scanning a QR code.

Models for specific environments

The six devices were developed for use in a range of environments. The NWA55BE, with an IP55 rating, is intended for outdoor areas such as patios or gardens. The NWA90BE PRO and NWA50BE PRO offer BandFlex tri-band capability, allowing users to choose between 5GHz and 6GHz bands to relieve congestion in high-traffic areas such as offices, meeting rooms, or busy public venues.

For businesses that frequently provide guest WiFi access-including cafes, hotels, clinics, and shops-the NWA90BE PRO, NWA90BE, and NWA55BE offer RADIUS Authentication and Captive Portal functionality. These features support secure management of guest connectivity and allow businesses to customise the login experience with their own branding.

The NWA30BE is optimised for small or temporary locations where space is limited, such as retail counters or pop-up shops. It is designed with high-efficiency antennas for performance in horizontal or desktop placements, reducing the need for extensive cabling or ceiling mounting.

Standards and security

Zyxel Networks states its WiFi 7 AP portfolio is among the first in the industry to comply with the EN 18031 security standards and the cybersecurity requirements set out in the European Union's Radio Equipment Directive.

Executive comment

"With this launch, we offer the industry's most comprehensive WiFi 7 AP portfolio, which is now 13 models strong," said Mr. Kell Lin, Senior Associate Vice President of Zyxel Networking Strategic Business Unit. "We are proud to unlock WiFi 7 performance for small businesses and, in doing so, accelerate the broader adoption of this important technology across both established and growing industries."

Zyxel Networks' move to introduce these new models is intended to make enterprise-grade wireless capabilities available to small businesses at accessible price points and with easier management, reflecting ongoing demand for more straightforward networking solutions in the SMB sector.
